The Here and Now

See the righteous bound for glory
Every blessèd one holier than thou
Bound for unknown territory
Clearin’ out of the here and now

Gone in search of greener pastures
Riding hard, rounding up their sacred cow
Hearts are set on sweet hereafters
Had enough of the here and now

The past is undergoing renovation
The future’s moving to an undisclosed location
So come and join this mass migration
The here and now is neither here nor there

Well thanks but no thanks
I ain’t goin’
I’m not giving up, or throwing in the towel
Spend my whole life never knowing
What became of the here and now
